Volunteach is unique because of its expert planning and organisation. Living with a Peruvian family can be achieved by doing other programmes but the skill and experience that VTP employs on a daily basis to make sure that each of the volunteers is happy and comfortable during their placement is phenomenal. Additionally, the opportunity to have meaningful and impactful experiences with Peruvian children who want to learn English is a really fun and exciting component of the programme.

If you want to experience Peru (Real Peru - not the English hostels and tourist sites), you have to use VolunTeach Peru. Living with the family lets you in on the wealth of culture that is otherwise hidden for tourists. Plus, if you want to become a teacher like me, this will give you so much experience and will no doubt inspire you to pursue your teaching goals as it certainly has for me!

I would 100% recommend Volunteach Peru. As it is a family run company you feel very much part of a big family. VTP could not be more helpful and she is always available to answer any questions you might have. Most volunteer companies are expensive but Volunteach Peru is very affordable and you are given a breakdown of where you money is going, for example helping with teacher training. This allows people from all backgrounds to take part in the volunteer work. Above all, the opportunity to live with a Peruvian family is what makes this company stand out.

I loved experiencing a totally new culture and the new, diverse areas of Peru. It’s very well run and any issues are immediately sorted with a very helpful and friendly company.

I would recommend VolunTeach because I had a fantastic 2 months in Peru and it was a really great way to not only go experience a new country and meet new people, but also to improve and develop my Spanish speaking skills. Meeting new people and experiencing the Peruvian culture. Also the English classes that we taught as part of the Pamplona Project were incredibly rewarding.

Unique. VTP certainly made the process a lot easier. It was nice to know the support was there if needed, and the seminar we did in Lima certainly helped with some of the culture shock.

I'd recommend it to future candidates as VTP offers a unique opportunity to work in a country that would be just a dream for many.

I would recommend VolunTeach Peru to everyone because it is an incredible and unique experience, and, although daunting at first, it was definitely the best thing I have ever done. The programme not only built my confidence and independence, but it also allowed me to travel a beautiful country that I have always wanted to see, and make lasting friendships with both Peruvians and the other English volunteers.

The VolunTeach program is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. You get the chance to eat, breathe, and live as a local, as the family and school wholeheartedly embrace you into their community. It is an amazing, well organised, experience and I felt supported the entire time. I would recommend this program to everyone.

I would wholeheartedly recommend the programme to anyone considering it as a Year Abroad or post-graduate placement. Having felt a bit rusty with my Spanish after spending my Year Abroad in Germany, living in Peru with the host families and working in schools gave me my confidence back. It is a fantastic way to experience teaching English in schools, but also a fantastic opportunity to make life-long friends and explore the fascinating country that is Peru.

It is an incredibly useful organisation for those wanting to improve their Spanish fluency, especially for those looking for year abroad placements. However, the element of VolunTeach Peru I would recommend the most would be the opportunity it gives participants to experience the real life of many Peruvians. You get to discover all the little (and big) differences between Peruvian culture and that of the UK, whilst at the same time making a significant contribution to the teaching in your school, where almost every single student is fascinated with learning English!

Being able to talk to the students about their lives, what interests them, how they feel about things and having similar conversations with staff and my Peruvian family was a priceless experience. I cannot thank enough their kindness and openness to accepting me so wholeheartedly into their family. VolunTeach Peru offers a unique experience that I recommend completely.
